The Atelier Atlas Boot — handcrafted in Grained Cognac Leather. An anchor of the City & Field Series, combining the tactile richness of textured hide with the warmth of the Mediterranean coast. Atelier No. 77 maps a world of organic elegance.

The Story

The world is not smooth; it is textured. El Atlas captures the spirit of the grand journey — from the sun-drenched walls of ancient cities to the rugged paths that lead to them.

We selected this piece for its unique Grained Cognac Leather, a specialized hide with a shrunken grain that offers superior flexibility and depth. It is a leather that hides wear, turning every journey into character rather than flaws, finished with a signature Cherry-Contrast Heel for the man who spans the divide between the studio and the coast.

Map your own world.

Design Notes

Materials

  • Vamp: Premium Grained Cowhide in Caisson Tan/Cognac. A textured hide that provides a supple hand-feel and high resistance to scuffing.
  • Lining: Full calfskin interior for a smooth, cool feel against the skin, ideal for maintain thermal comfort in changing climates.
  • Sole: Goodyear Welted Leather Sole. Hand-stitched and reinforced for confident strides across city stone and field.
  • Heel: Stacked Hardwood with a signature "Cherry" contrast finish — adding a subtle artisanal flair to the profile.

Signature Details

  • The Texture: A shrunken-grain surface that adds visual weight and masculinity, ensuring the boot feels organic from the first wear.
  • The Toe: Sharp Western Square Toe that provides a modern, architectural silhouette.
  • The Build: Refined Chelsea silhouette with woven pull tabs reinforced for longevity and the daily ritual of departure.

Wearing Experience

  • Fit: Crafted on an atelier-specific last. Most clients take their usual US size. If you are between sizes or prefer a more relaxed fit for your travels, we recommend sizing up by half.
  • Break-in: Structured at first; the supple shrunken grain softens naturally after 1–2 wears as the leather settles to your unique geometry.
  • Care: Famously low-maintenance. Dirt brushes easily out of the grain; condition occasionally with a neutral cream to maintain the cognac sheen.

The Mark of Craftsmanship

Luxury here is discipline: the shrunken grain is a natural characteristic of the hide processing, ensuring no two pairs have the exact same grain map. El Atlas celebrates this variation as a signature of authenticity.

Design Inspiration

The terracotta tiles of a Mediterranean roof. The rugged geography of a mountain pass. A man who crosses the line and lets the room recalibrate.

He enters without noise. Everything adjusts.

FAQ

What is "Grained" leather?

It is a full-grain hide treated to shrink the fibers, resulting in a raised texture that hides creases better and offers superior durability.

Is this boot suitable for hot weather?

Yes. The breathable calfskin lining and lighter cognac palette make it an excellent choice for warmer climate styling.

How do I clean the textured surface?

Simply use a horsehair brush to remove dust from the grain. It is much easier to maintain than smooth or high-shine leathers.
